Stay On Trend This Winter by Sierra Carroll
With the Winter season approaching, plenty of new fashion trends will be coming to take over our winter wardrobes.
After powerhouse brands like Fendi, Off-White and Bottega Veneta debuted their Fall and Winter 2020-2021 collections, many trends such as latex, cutouts, dramatic sleeves, fringe, velvet and leather will be hitting many retailers this Winter season.
Latex
In 2017, latex has dominated the fashion industry, and so far it seems like it’s here to stay. After Saint Laurent and Balmain incorporated the fabric into their Winter collections, it has been everywhere. Latex pants like the Patent Leather Shiny Trousers are a fun and bold way to wear this trend. Pair the pants with a latex trench, like the Patent Leather Trench Coat. You’ll look like you just walked off of the Fendi runway!
Cutouts
Cutouts are a sexy way to elevate any outfit. Prarai Gurung debuted dresses with rhinestone cutouts, much like our O-Neck Hollow Out Mini Dress; a sexy and unique dress that can be worn for any special occasion. While fashion house Christopher Kane took a different approach with this trend, and tailored pieces with lace cutouts, similar to the Embellished Lace Blouse. Cutouts have stayed relevant, because of how versatile they are. They can be incorporated into any piece imaginable.
Dramatic Sleeves
Dramatic sleeves have taken over the fashion industry. They’re not reserved for the 80’s anymore! Simple tops with dramatic, mesh sleeves like our Sheer Mesh Puff Sleeve Blouse has the perfect amount of 80’s flare, but is still modern enough to wear today. Fendi debuted an iconic pink dress with huge sleeves in their Winter collection. The Long Puff Sleeve Draped Dress is an adorable alternative to the Fendi dress, and is over half of the price!
Fringe
Fringe is something that’s always coming and going, but every time it has come back, we always see it done differently! Salvatore Ferragamo served fringe elegance with the black fringe dress that was debuted in their Winter collection. The Midi Tassel Bodycon Dress is a very cute way to follow the trend without breaking the bank. Bottega Veneta incorporated a long sleeve fringe top, similar to the O-Neck Tassel Sweater, which can be worn several different ways.
Velvet
Velvet has made its resurgence from the 90s, and many fashion connoisseurs are here for it. Off-White debuted an electric blue velvet dress, similar to our Velvet Bodycon Backless Dress. Who knew blue velvet could be such a beautiful combination? Velvet blazers were huge in the Winter runways, and Tom Ford designed a gorgeous purple velvet blazer, just like our Velvet Business Coat. Pair it with a pencil skirt and heels, and you’ll be turning heads in your office!
Leather
Latex and patent leather weren’t the only fabrics in the spotlight! Classic leather pieces were in many Fall/Winter collections, especially by fashion houses like Zadig and Voltaire and Alberta Ferretti. Leather pilot jackets like the European Style Leather Jacket made a debut in the Alberta Ferretti collection, and may be a trend that we will be seeing in the upcoming months. Simple leather trenches were also spotted in the Fall/Winter fashion weeks. A leather trench coat like our Faux Leather Trench Coat is a fashion classic, and is still considered a hot item today.
