Trendy Winter Coats by Sierra Carroll
Coats are the perfect statement piece for Winter. Since we have to wear them during the coldest time of year, why not find one that reflects your personal style?
There are so many pieces to choose from this season, as we’ve seen from the Fall/Winter 2020-2021 Fashion Week. Leather, puffer, quilted, trench, fur, velvet and animal print coats are among the many outerwear trends this Winter, and Grrly Grrls has all the latest styles to keep your closet updated, while also keeping you warm.
Leather
First invented for pilots in the early 1900s, the leather jacket has been a staple in Winter fashion for over a century. You can never go wrong with the classic black leather trench. Fashion powerhouses like Alberta Ferretti, Salvatore Ferragamo, Ingie and Fendi all debuted the classic coat in their collections. Fendi paired a black leather jacket, like our Faux Leather Trench Coat with a matching black leather bag, similar to our Genuine Leather Handbag.
Puffer
With their ability to insulate body heat along with their versatility, it makes sense why they have been a hit within the last few years. Versace incorporated a unique, red puffer coat in their collection, like the Short Padded Puffer Jacket, and Jacquemus debuted a cropped puffer coat, similar to our Parka Winter Puffer Jacket.
Quilted
The quilted pattern was something many designers took on this season. Jason Wu designed a chic and slick, quilted jacket, like our Stand Collar Warm Parka. If you want to go with an option where you can layer your favorite sweater or turtleneck underneath, our Winter Sleeveless Down Jacket is a great alternative.
Trench
Trench coats serve full body protection from the harsh Winter weather, and can go with literally anything in your wardrobe. JW Anderson and Mose debuted the classic, nude trench coat, like our Double Breasted Trench Coat in their collections. While Rejina Pyo debuted a beautiful, white trench coat, similar to our Wide Lapel Trench Coat. Pair with some white booties for a jaw dropping Winter look.
Fur
Around the 11th century, fur clothing was originally created for the wealthy and elite. But in the modern day, fur can be worn by anyone! Givenchy made their own twist on the fur coat, by pairing a wine colored fur coat, similar to the Winter Faux Fur Knitted Shawl, with matching Faux Leather Gloves. Ports 1961 took on a more traditional approach, by designing a light brown fur trench, like our Natural Mink Fur Coat.
Velvet
Velvet blazers were major in the Fall/Winter 2020-2021 Fashion Week. Fashion houses like Tom Ford, Balmain and Dior all debuted their versions of the velvet blazer. Our Velvet Business Coat is a great alternative to all of the pieces seen in the show.
Animal Print
Animal print is the number one way to elevate your outfit, and an animal print coat is the perfect way to do it. Christopher Kane, Tom Ford, Fendi and Prabal Gurung showed off their versions of the animal printed coat, and they all had one thing in common- they all had blazer construction. The Leopard Printed Coat is an affordable, trendy piece to incorporate into your closet this season.
